Many health conditions, chronic illnesses, and diseases are often invisible to the eye. This infographic “Common Hidden Illnesses Explained” was created by Victoria Abbott-Fleming. Victoria is the founder of a chronic pain charity called Burning Nights. The infographic provides an overview of ten of the most common hidden illnesses, along with their symptoms and causes, as well as possible treatments.
Burning Nights is a charity which aims to generate awareness of chronic pain conditions such as CRPS. It was set up by CRPS sufferer Victoria Abbott-Fleming in autumn 2014, shortly after Victoria was told that her second leg would have to be amputated. She has suffered from CRPS since an accident at work in 2003 and already had one leg amputated prior to this point. Since then, she has been fully devoted to raising awareness of the aggressive symptoms of CRPS and she set up the Burning Nights website to communicate this intention.
In 2015, Victoria decided that she would like Burning Nights to gain official charity status and, after assembling a board of highly renowned trustees, Victoria’s venture was officially registered as a charity in April 2016. She regularly takes part in fundraisers and sponsored events across the UK to promote the charity and CRPS awareness. Her story is a prime example of how a person can achieve remarkable feats despite adverse and unfortunate events in her life.
