The Vital Plan Restore Program is for anyone who suffers from chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, or Lyme disease.

Disclosure: I have been given the Vita Plan Restore Program as part of a product review through the Chronic Illness Bloggers network. Although the product was a gift, all opinions in this review remain my own and I was in no way influenced by the company.

When I became serious about taking control of my health I scoured the internet for information. I no longer care what caused fibromyalgia -I wanted to know what it was doing to my body and what I could do about it. I read books and research studies. I pieced together what I learned in a way that made sense to me.

I slowly changed my diet and started taking supplements. Some things worked, some didn’t, and some made me feel worse. But I kept trying. I often wished I had someone to guide me. So when I was offered the opportunity to review the I was ecstatic. It was just what I was looking for.

The Vital Plan Restore Program

The Restore Program was created by Dr. Rawls to support his immune system during his own struggle with Lyme disease and fibromyalgia. After using natural healing to restore his own health, Dr. Rawls is dedicated to helping others do the same.

The Restore Program Starter Kit includes:

  • 4 supplemental formulas
  • 6-month email & video course
  • Suffered Long Enough E-book
  • Progress surveys
  • Diet guide and recipes
  • Personalized support

The Restore Program takes 50 key ingredients and combines them into four formulas. You take 3 capsules from each formula twice daily.

  1. Advanced Biotic™: Supports the gut, immune function, & microbiome balance. This formula is beneficial for supporting the immune system in its job of balancing the microbiome and increasing the body’s resistance to opportunistic microbes of all varieties.
  2. Adaptogen Recovery™: Supports the immune system in its fight against bacterial threats and helps the body’s stress response to counteract the negative effects of stress.
  3. Mitochondrial Support: Supports cellular energy production and tissue detoxification. This formula also provides antioxidant support for nerve tissue and supports liver function to provide natural detoxification.
  4. Prevention Plus®: Powerful detoxification and antioxidant support. The natural herbal ingredients help maintain the heart, blood vessels, liver, skin, collagen (joints and ligaments), and also support enhanced blood flow.

The Restore Program also shows you how to:

  • Transition to a clean diet and improve gut function
  • Better manage stress, pain, and sleep issues
  • Regain energy and become physically active again

My Review

I was given a three-month supply of the supplements. I began the program on the first of June. I started the supplements slowly by taking one of each formula twice a day. After a few days, I started taking two of each formula twice a day. Everything went fine so I started taking the full dose of 3 from each formula twice a day.

I was feeling pretty good the first month I was on the program. Although I have to admit, I skipped the elimination diet that you are supposed to be on for the first few weeks. I changed my diet a few years ago and it seemed it was working out fine for me.

Beginning in July, the second month of the program, I just didn’t feel well. I felt nauseous and weak and the fatigue was overwhelming. Each day I felt worse. I was unmotivated and depressed. The support team at Vital Plan said I was probably having Herxheimer reactions as a result of bacterial die-off during treatment. They sent me an e-book that explained Herxheimer reactions and suggestions for getting through them.

It seems that parts of bacteria shed during die-off and circulate throughout the body causing intense inflammatory reactions. Herxheimer symptoms may include fatigue, muscle aches and pains, poor sleep, and generally feeling terrible all over. And I had them all.

I also spoke with Dr. Rawls. He told me to back off the supplements for a while. He suggested drinking ginger tea and taking Chlorella which is used to increase “good” bacteria in the intestine. Then to start the supplements again slowly.

I still felt awful, then I started coughing, was congested, and had a sore throat. I have asthma and I was having trouble breathing. My rescue inhaler wasn’t working at all so I made an appointment with my doctor. I had a sinus infection and bronchitis so my doctor prescribed an antibiotic. It took a couple of weeks to get over bronchitis so I was off the Restore Program supplements entirely.

Once I recovered I started back on the supplements. This time, instead of taking all four supplements I started with one supplement at a time. I am also following the diet plan more closely. I am still not taking the full dose of supplements. I am taking 2 of each formula twice a day.

I am feeling a lot better. I am getting my energy back and my mood is better. I think the rocky start was not due to the program. Most likely, I caught a virus which led to increased asthma symptoms and bronchitis.

I am hopeful.

The first three months of the program I received daily emails with tips and helpful information. I really enjoyed these emails and have kept them to refer back to later. I also signed up for another 3 months of emails for free.

Periodically, I was sent an online questionnaire to track my progress. After completing the questions I would receive my score by email. I also received a free phone consultation with Dr. Rawls.

The Restore Program is not a quick cure.

The program is designed to be a foundation. The supplements don’t treat symptoms like drug therapy. They help your body’s natural systems establish a balance. It takes time.

The goal of the program is to place your body in an environment of optimal health. The recommendation is to take the supplements for at least 6 months. How far you will get in six months is dependent on the status of your present health and how intensely you follow the program.

The Restore Program costs $269. Use coupon code: FIBRODAZE15 to receive 15% off. If you subscribe to the auto-ship program you save 10% on every order. If you can afford the price I think the Vital Plan Restore Program is definitely worth a try. For more information, you can visit the Vital Plan website

If the program is out of reach for you, I suggest getting Dr. Rawls book, Suffered Long Enough. Even without the program, the book is full of useful advice.
