Are your hands and fingers painful? Do you have a hard time opening various packages? I do. Not only do I have fibromyalgia, I have arthritis in my hands. It started in my thumbs. Some days it is so painful I can not do anything that requires a pinching or gripping motion like using scissors. Recently, I was given the chance to try Nimble which is a small cutting tool that sits on your finger like a sewing thimble. The Nimble can be used to open all kinds of paper and plastic packages with just your finger.

Disclosure: “This is a sponsored post for Nimble. I received a free nimble from Version 22 and have been compensated through the Chronic Illness Bloggers network. All opinions remain my own and I was in no way influenced by the Version 22 or Chronic Illness Bloggers.”

Nimble is the world’s first one finger package opener.

The Nimble was designed by Version 22 to make daily life a little easier for people. The Nimble is particularly useful for people with visual or hand impairments.

The Nimble is worn on the tip of your finger. The bright yellow color makes it easier to see for people with visual impairments. And since it sits on your finger, it is very helpful for people who struggle with the gripping and peeling action most packaging requires.

The Nimble has a unique one-size-fits-all design which expands and contracts. So there is no need to worry about what size is best for you. And you don’t have to worry about hurting yourself. The Nimble has a small ceramic blade which has a sharper edge than steel. Even though the blade is very sharp, it is too small to penetrate your skin and cause injury.

The Nimble has won multiple awards. It has been tested using volunteers of all ages, disabled and non-disabled. They wanted to make sure it does the job and is easy to use for everyone.

The Nimble easily cuts through thin plastic and paper.

I have found the Nimble really helpful in the kitchen. It made opening various packages while cooking a breeze. And it made short work of cutting out a big stack of store coupons. Much easier and quicker than using scissors.

I have used the Nimble to open all kinds of mail, from letters to packages. Since the blade is small, you don’t have to worry when cutting the tape on packages. It won’t go too deep and damage the contents of the package.

Don’t you just hate shrink-wrapped packages that electronics and batteries come in? Some can be really frustrating to open. The Nimble works great for them, too. Although I do neither, I think the Nimble would be ideal for paper crafts and scrapbooking.

All in all, I think the Nimble is a great little cutting tool that can make opening things much easier and a lot less painful.
